It's not rocket science to say that the most important part of the swing is impact. Now there can be many different swings but there is only one correct impact position. The ideal impact position is where 80% of weight has moved onto the left foot with the hips turning left, the right knee driving toward the target and the hands in front of the clubface.
Now the most important hand for a right hander through impact is in fact the left hand. You ideally want to feel that the left hand is bowed through impact to ensure the hands stay in front of the clubface. This will mean you want to almost feel that there is more tension through the left hand versus the right hand. Along with the left hand staying bowed, you want to also feel it rotating through impact to ensure the clubface is square upon the strike.
What most people do is use too much of their dominant hand. This would mean if you're a right hander, your tendency will be to overuse your right hand and vice versa if you're left handed. As a right hander, if you use too much of your right hand, you will be in danger of 'flipping' your hands through impact and thus resulting in inconsistent strikes. When you are too dominant of the trailing hand, the handle tends to stay behind the clubface at impact causing 'thin' shots and 'duff' shots.
Now a really good tip before each swing is to do a rehearsal swing where you really feel your leading hand bowing and rotating through impact. A great drill to work on impact, is practicing hitting 'punch' shots. This means trying to keep the ball as low as possible by feeling the hands stay in front of the clubface at impact. I usually use a high lofted club such as a nine or an eight iron and attempt to keep the hands in front of the clubface at least 2 inches behind the ball leading into impact and 2 inches after the ball is hit.
